At the end of the last round, a complaint was presented about the Buchholz variant used (the one that came into force on March 1, 2026) compared to the one that was explicitly specified in the rules. The difference between the versions limits the influence of BYES and non-appearances in its calculation. The tournament rules were drawn up prior to the entry into force of this new calculation formula, they have been published during these months and no claim has been made in this regard.
Although from the organization we understand that in favor of sportsmanship the most updated regulations should be used, the legal advice confirms that we must respect the rules as they have been published.
We deeply regret the delay and the uncertainty caused, but we must adhere to the specific rules of the tournament as they have been published.
